Sometimes your home can start smelling stale. To freshen up your home naturally, here are a few tips to make your home smell amazing.
Light a candle – Lighting candles can be a easy way to freshen up a space. Look for scented candles with vanilla, herbs or flower based oils. If buying scented candles is too expensive, make your own with a few empty mason or jam jars. Once your candle is made add a few drop of essential oils to the mix.
Simmer some spices – For a home smelling of spices, add a few sticks of cinnamon into a pot of water and place it on your stove. Once your home is smelling fresh, take out the cinnamon sticks and dry them on a paper towel for reuse.
Use your slow cooker – Since leaving a burner on when you’re not in the kitchen is not safe, use your slow cooker as an air freshener. Add a few drops of lavender or your favourite oil and let your slow cooker do the rest.
Bake – Baking a homemade air freshener is a great way to freshen up your home and your oven. Start of with tossing some orange and apple peels on a parchment paper and adding a few spices. Place your parchment paper in the oven at 200F for however long you like the smell to last.
Cook something – If you cook most of your meals, nothing beats the smell of a home smelling of stews, braises and roasts. Other favourites are bread, cookies and cakes.
